FAQ
Deep Kitchen Cleaning Questions
What Sydney venue owners ask before booking a deep clean.
Commercial kitchen deep cleaning can include accessible ceilings, walls, splashbacks, shelving, benches, cooking-equipment surfaces, sinks, stainless steel, floors, edges and difficult-to-reach areas. HygieneXperts follows a detailed, top-to-bottom approach rather than cleaning only visible surfaces. The exact scope is confirmed after assessing the kitchen, grease condition, equipment, access and site requirements. Specialist services such as rangehood, exhaust-fan and internal duct cleaning remain separately scoped unless specifically included.
Yes. Commercial kitchen floor degreasing and grease removal are an important part of our deep-cleaning service. Depending on the floor material and condition, cleaning may involve commercial degreasers, manual or machine scrubbing, edge and corner cleaning, wet cleaning and controlled pressure cleaning where appropriate. The cleaning method depends on the floor surface, grease level, drainage, nearby equipment and site conditions. Permanent staining, damaged grout or deteriorated flooring may not be corrected by cleaning alone.
Yes, where the areas can be safely accessed and are included in the agreed scope. Our team pays particular attention to areas routine cleaning can miss, including underneath benches, equipment legs, lips and edges, corners, ledges, behind accessible equipment and floor edges. Heavy equipment should only be moved where it can be done safely and appropriately. HygieneXperts will identify access limitations during the site assessment rather than promising that every concealed area can always be reached.
Yes. Accessible walls, ceilings and high-level surfaces can be included in a commercial kitchen deep clean. Depending on the site, this may include wall tiles, splashbacks, doors, frames, ledges, accessible ceiling surfaces, external fan surfaces, vents or grilles and other high-level areas included in the quotation. Working methods and equipment are selected according to the height, surface, surrounding equipment and site-specific safety requirements.
There is no single deep-cleaning frequency suitable for every commercial kitchen. The appropriate schedule depends on cooking volume, grease production, operating hours, routine cleaning standards, equipment use, food preparation activities and previous inspection findings. Daily cleaning remains important, while professional deep cleaning addresses heavier build-up and areas that routine kitchen cleaning may not reach. FSANZ requires food businesses to keep premises, fixtures, fittings and equipment clean and prevent food waste, dirt and grease from accumulating.
Commercial cool-room cleaning can include suitable accessible walls, ceilings, shelving, racks, doors, handles, frames, seals, ledges, corners, floors, floor edges and drains where included. Food spills, dirt, residue and appropriate mould-affected surfaces can also be addressed within the agreed scope. Accessible external surfaces around evaporator or fan units may be cleaned where appropriate, but HygieneXperts does not dismantle, repair or service refrigeration or electrical equipment as part of routine cool-room cleaning.
Yes. Suitable mould-affected surfaces can be cleaned or treated where appropriate and included in the agreed scope. However, mould is often associated with moisture, condensation, leaks or ventilation issues. Cleaning the visible mould does not necessarily remove the underlying cause, so building, refrigeration or moisture problems may also need attention from an appropriate specialist. NSW Health notes that mould is likely to return if the source of excess moisture is not addressed.
It depends on the site, food being stored, cleaning method and the customer’s food-safety procedures. Before cleaning, HygieneXperts coordinates with the authorised site representative regarding whether food or stored goods need to be removed, relocated or appropriately protected. Cleaning chemicals and food must be kept appropriately separated, and the customer’s required temperature controls need to be maintained. FSANZ requires food businesses to protect stored food from contamination and generally keep potentially hazardous food at 5°C or colder unless the business can demonstrate another safe system.
Cleaning and sanitising are different processes. Cleaning removes dirt, grease and food residue; sanitising is a separate step intended to reduce microorganisms on suitable surfaces. Where sanitising is required and included in the scope, the method and product should be appropriate for the particular surface, manufacturer instructions and food-environment requirements. A surface should normally be properly cleaned before it is sanitised. FSANZ specifically distinguishes cleaning from sanitising and states that cleaning should occur before sanitising.
Yes. Before-and-after photographs and a Cleaning Service Report can be provided where included in the agreed scope. The report may record areas serviced, cleaning completed, before-and-after photographs, visible observations, inaccessible or excluded areas, and maintenance issues or recommendations identified during the service. These records can support internal hygiene, facility-management and cleaning records. They do not guarantee an audit result or replace documentation that must be issued by a food-safety auditor, regulator or other authorised professional. For applicable food businesses, FSANZ Standard 3.2.2A can require businesses to substantiate certain food-safety controls, including cleaning and sanitising practices, which is why maintaining clear cleaning records can be useful.
